Stitches

Oh, dear me. Stitches was so completely fun and I spent a ton of money, mainly on sock yarn. But I did get some stuff that I have been wanting to try for a very long time, so let me detail it here. I'll get some pics up later on. The list: KPPPM in a leaf green with speckles. You cannot go wrong with Koigu. Nuff said. Next, some Cherry Tree Hill Possum sock in the Birches colorway. I've used CTH Super Glitz before and it was so cool that I needed to branch out into their other lines. The possum is going to be very interesting to try out. I wonder if it sheds and how warm it will be. My sister and I are doing the same pattern with the same yarn, a little mini KAL for just the two of us right now, so those questions will be answered soon. Then, I got some Socks That Rock in Lenore, part of their almost black yarns. It's very cool with a little hint of purple. I wanted the Valkyrie in mediumweight, but they didn't have it at the booth, so Lenore was my second choice. I can't wait to use that; maybe it's the next project. After I got those, I got some Malabrigo sock yarn in Abril, a very dark purple with blue. It's so soft and fits right in with their worsted weight. I have no idea what it will become, it just had to be mine. The last sock yarn I got was Dream in Color Smooshy in a peach color. It is also very lovely and will make some delicious socks. As part of the CTH grab, I got a bundle of their worsted weight Potluck in the Brites colorway. Translate: orange. I promised that I wouldn't get orange or green, but what can you do? I think I'll make a Wicked sweater for me and then if there is enough, one for T. It was great fun hanging out with my mom and sister too. It was an allover good time. Thanks Mom (you know why!!)!!

It's been awhile...

Well, the holidays are over and now it's time to document them. Sort of. I was a crazy knitter for the kids this year. I also sewed a bunch of stuff, but that's for another time. For C & T, I made felted clogs. They were very cute and so soft. C's were too tight and he can't even get his foot half way in. But never fear, I can use the tops to make T's earflap hat a little warmer. Her slippers fit much better and they are so cute they way they turned out mottled. For L, I made a little raglan sweater with cabling on the sleeves. It went so fast and was so fun to do. I'm glad I made it top down because I already have to lengthen the sleeves. (How does a baby grow so fast anyway?)

So I am knitting socks for my mom in the yarn we got when she was here. It is going pretty fast and the pattern is really stretchy. I absolutely love the way the yarn is knitting up and I have got to go buy some for myself. It is fabulous! The picture of the sole is just to show the yarn. Obviously I cannot take decent photos, but oh well. The color is more accurate in the pattern pic.
