After checking out the Aran Knitting book by Alice Starmore for who even knows how long, I have finally decided to cast on one of the projects. St Brigid is an allover cable pullover that has a great center panel with two side panels on either side mirroring the center. I will not be doing that fringe (wtf?), instead it will just begin. Good luck to me! |

I did keep knitting, and have finished the Pulsations socks (you can find the pattern here). Mine are done in merino yarn from an etsy seller and they are very soft. For this pair, I chose a peasant heel (or afterthought heel) and round toe. They fit great, but I wish I had made the cuff one repeat longer. Oh well, them's the breaks. The pattern was very easy to memorize and looks good with the tonal yarn.

The Magic Mirror socks are progressing well. I used a toe up version of a gusset and Eye of Partridge heel. That worked out well and now I'm in the home stretch for the first sock. I even wrote myself notes so that the second will be easy to replicate (it's truly unbelievable). Also, I am working on G's Thomas socks still. I'm calling the pattern Chevron Rib Socks. The only thing making me crazy now is that two, count 'em--two, of my Brittany needles broke. They snapped right as I was knitting with them. So I'm switching between pairs with my ever trusty Crystal Palace bamboos. *love* them! |
